M.A.R.K.A.T.O. Interreg Greece-Italy Programme 2021-2027
M.A.R.K.A.T.O. - maintaining and revitalizing knowledge and traditional occupations.
The M.A.R.K.A.T.O. project is a journey to preserve and promote the traditional professions that define the cultural ‘essence’ of Greece and Italy. With the evolution of global trends, M.A.R.K.A.T.O. supports artisans, bringing their work into the ‘digital age’ to reach new audiences and build economic sustainability in the regions where it operates. At the heart of the project is the creation of a “Common Digital Marketplace” and a “Digital Archive”, which allow visitors from all over the world to explore, learn about and purchase unique creations from Patras, Puglia, Zakynthos, Metsovo, Matera, Bisceglie and Bari. This digital transformation opens doors for artisans, showcasing their crafts and allowing them to thrive and mature technologically.
M.A.R.K.A.T.O. combines tradition and technology, breathing new life into heritage while honouring the cultural “identity” of each region. More than a marketplace, M.A.R.K.A.T.O. creates communities, connecting chambers of commerce, cultural institutions, local authorities and artisans to redefine the way traditional crafts are perceived, practised and preserved.Through cross-border collaboration, we create an immersive cultural journey that not only strengthens local economies but also enriches the lives of those who experience it.
By supporting M.A.R.K.A.T.O., you are joining a movement to preserve culture and create sustainable development through heritage. Stay connected as we launch M.A.R.K.A.T.O., a digital platform and community that invites the world to celebrate, protect and participate in the rich heritage of Greece and Italy. M.A.R.K.A.T.O. is transforming cultural preservation and creating a future where traditions continue to inspire. Join us in preserving the past and shaping a vibrant future, one work of art at a time.
