On Sunday, October 4 – marking eight hundred years since the death of Saint Francis – Matera celebrates the Canticle of the Creatures in Mediterranean languages. The Municipality of Matera and the Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation are bringing “The Canticle of the Creatures: a multilingual oratorio for spiritual resistance” to the courtyard of the former San Rocco Hospital – home to the National Museums of Matera – with two performances at 7:30 PM and 9:00 PM.
