Claudio Amendolagine
Digital communication
Born in Matera but a citizen of Europe and the world, Claudio Amendolagine works in digital communication, storytelling and social media across culture, local communities and major international events. For more than ten years, he has been involved in the communication of cultural, institutional and creative projects through images, videos and different forms of contemporary storytelling.
He has lived and worked in Australia, Finland, UK, United Arab Emirates and Japan, moving through different cities and worlds with a perspective that connects local identities with a global dimension. From Sydney to Dubai and Osaka, passing through London, Rome and Milan, each experience has become part of a personal geography shaped by travels, encounters, paths and stories to tell.
After studying International Relations at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, completing an Erasmus period at the University of Helsinki and gaining experience in the United Kingdom through the Leonardo da Vinci programme (now Erasmus+), he began working in the field of digital communication and cultural promotion.
He was part of Italy’s communication team for the last two editions of the Universal Exhibitions – Expo 2020 Dubai and Expo 2025 Osaka, working on social media, editorial and digital content production, institutional communication and press office activities on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
After the extraordinary experience of Matera 2019 European Capital of Culture, which deeply shaped the city’s cultural and creative journey, he is now involved in Matera 2026 Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue, contributing to the communication activities of the Matera Basilicata 2019 Foundation.
He also writes about travel and lifestyle on his blog.
